Patek Philippe Ellipse Stepped Onyx Cartier 1970s
Originally debuted in 1968, the Golden Ellipse model designed by Patek Philippe has transcended the formality of employing only traditional shaped wristwatches. It’s bold case design of balancing between roundness and rectangularity have led to what watch connoisseurs consider as a golden ratio.
Our reference 3634 is a special Ellipse with its three-step case design and so large bezel. Even more rare is the deep black onyx stone dial with the alpha 18k gold hand set. Its comes in fantastic condition including the original Patek Philippe leather strap and an 18k yellow gold Patek Philippe folding clasp. Inside we have the legendary automatic calibre 28-255, the same movement as the 3700 Nautilus.
What our specific piece makes it so desirable for watch enthusiast is the Cartier engraving on the back. That means it was sold by a Cartier boutique back then.
